Issue: VLC Player Won't Load M3U Playlist

Symptoms: Playlist file opens but no channels appear

Solutions:

  1. Update VLC Player:
    • Help → Check for Updates → Install latest version
  2. Correct File Association:
    • Right-click M3U file → Open With → VLC Media Player → Set as default
  3. Manual Playlist Loading:
    • VLC → Media → Open Network Stream → Paste M3U URL directly
  4. Check Windows Firewall:
    • Windows Security → Firewall → Allow app through firewall → Add VLC

Issue: Stuttering/Lag During Playback

Symptoms: Video freezes, audio continues, choppy playback

Solutions:

  1. Adjust VLC Buffer Settings:
    • Tools → Preferences → Show All Settings → Input/Codecs → Network Caching → Increase to 3000ms
  2. Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Device Manager → Display Adapters → Update drivers
  3. Close Resource-Heavy Programs:
    • Task Manager → End unnecessary processes
  4. Use Hardware Acceleration:
    • VLC Preferences → Input/Codecs → Hardware-accelerated decoding → Enable
